What about women? What about beauty? Is there any relationship between them that promotes or prevents an individual’s progress in life? Women’s beauty, it is said, always makes it for them in life. Beauty gives women status. Beauty gives women power. Beauty gives women almost everything at all times. However, while beauty may have been an asset for some women to others it has become a liability. Is it enough, therefore, to say that beauty accounts for women’s success or failure in life?
The 26 essays in this collection were selected from an entry of 45 submissions on the theme, “Women, Beauty, Status, and Power”. The essays were originally entered for the MEBO Annual Essay Awards competition in secondary schools in Uganda. But the order of their appearance purely follows the categories they fall not the assessment grades. Find out what the authors think and want to share with the readership.
